THE MOUNTAINS ARE LIKE A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN…UNPREDICTABLE.
Preparation is necessary to avoid being caught off guard.
WE WILL GIVE YOU SOME SUGGESTIONS...Useful, and most certainly appreciated in case of... cold.
Cold is the hidden enemy...so make room for a nice sweater or down vest.
Also pack some thermal gloves (look in leading retail stores for high mountain sports, free climbing, and snow boarding... but you can also find suitable technical material in hardware stores for a good price. For example, I use gloves I bought at the HARDWARE STORE for €8.00. They are anti-vibration, anti-freeze, anti-slip and waterproof…)
A piece of silver fabric...for use in emergencies...it is the best wind-protection method...better than the old newspapers used by cyclists who were sweaty and had to walk to the summit to face the slopes with the temperature at 0 degrees...
Two...even three pairs of gloves...they are a resource that is a must in a motorcyclist’s bag.
Work socks, thermal, with metal thread fabric, (Kapriol, found in stores for construction companies, has an incredible range of adaptive clothing that provides great satisfaction to the motorcyclist with the advantage of costing 10 times less than...products from the dealer's shop ...)
A Kapriol safety steel-toed hiking boot with adjustable closure...
A pair of motorcycling shoes...costs three times more and doesn’t have half the characteristic of these…
Don’t skimp on ski masks with throat protection...Silk is best...but you can use a snowboarding mask which is technically better and…gives you a cool, aggressive look…
A dry suit is better than any thermal underwear but…Thermore®…or other technical fibres used in skiing and mountaineering can't be beat...for elasticity...warmth and wearability.
Visors and white goggles (the light in autumn is oblique and there are shadow cones…it is better to be seen than spend long moments waiting for the sharp effects of chiaroscuro to balance out).
There are foams on the market that build a film on the skin as a DOUBLE skin…removable with water... (surgeons use them without the clutter of gloves)…IDEAL for small repairs in the cold as well as glove liners...! No cracking...no colouring of the skin with oil...fat...etc. It is very cool! Tested and used, with excellent results, even if a bit expensive.
The tires have to be in the mountains...Curves..Brakes…Wet…any layer of ice calls for extremely good tires...for your safety and for your fun!
The cold can drain batteries...someone in your group should bring a battery charger. Today on the market you can find some the size of a pack of cigarettes.
I could add much more...but I’m sure you already have a well-prepared suitcase.
